Voice-Cloning + Paraphrase — Data Augmentation Demo
What is this? (in plain English)
Imagine you have a real voice recording — say, someone saying "I love this gift, thank you!" in a warm, happy tone.
We want more training data that sounds just like that person, but we can't always reuse the original recording
(it may be license-restricted, like the Source A dataset, or otherwise off-limits for commercial use).
So we do a clever trick with our fine-tuned 8-billion-parameter voice model:
Keep the voice. We hand the model the original clip as a reference, so the new audio uses the same speaker's voice.
Keep the style. We reuse the original performance instruction (e.g. "warm and grateful"), so the emotion and delivery stay the same.
Change the words. We paraphrase the sentence — same meaning, freshly reworded — using an AI language model.
Generate. The model speaks the new sentence in the same voice and style — a brand-new, fully synthetic clip.
The result: a fresh synthetic sample that sounds like the original speaker but is newly generated and reworded.
Do this at scale and you turn restricted or scarce recordings into abundant, license-clean training data — data augmentation for text-to-speech.
Below, each card shows the original real clip (its voice, its instruction, its words) on the left, and the
generated clone saying the paraphrased sentence on the right. Play both to hear that the voice and mood carry over while the words change.

The water is perfectly calm today. I feel the sunlight on my closed eyes. My dad used to say to just relax your arms completely, as if you're trusting the heavens. But I need to speak it aloud. For my daughter's laughter, and for every summer I missed. I'm so overwhelmed I can hardly catch my breath.

1 · Original real clip (source speaker + style)
Performance instruction
A 40-year-old man with a strained, breathy tenor, delivering this high-quality studio voice recording with no background noise.
The same voice is struggling to lift a heavy dresser, sweating and puffing with embarrassment as his young child watches from the doorway.
(straining, panting) "Just" (panting) "a little more." (sighs) "Almost got it, sweetie. Daddy's strong, see?" (heavy pant) "Just" (sighs) "give me a second here."
CUT TO:
The same voice now silent for a moment, then soft and cracked with a sudden realization of loss, staring at the dresser.
(whispering, trembling) (sighs) "That was the weekend we painted your room." (sighs) "She picked out the color." (soft gasping sob) "We should probably... just set it down."
The performance across both moments should feel like a man convincing himself of strength until memory betrays him into fragile stillness.
Original transcript

Performance instruction
A 28-year-old woman with a warm, slightly husky alto, delivering this high-quality studio voice recording with no background noise.
The same voice is humming softly, body loose and happy, checking her reflection in the rearview mirror with self-satisfaction.
(soft sigh, humming) "That was nice." (breathy exhale) "Yeah… really nice."
CUT TO:
The same voice now seized mid-breath, body locking in terror, gasping sharply in pure shock as she sees the child's face.
(sharp, terrified gasp) "Oh my God…" (sharp gasp) "Oh my God, what… who are you?" (whimpering breath) "No… no… no… please…"
The performance across both moments should feel like a real human snapped from tender calm into pure panic, breath and voice splintering under the shock.

1 · Original real clip (source speaker + style)
Performance instruction
A 78-year-old man with a leathery, whiskey-and-honey tenor, delivering this high-quality studio voice recording with no background noise.
The same voice is deeply settled, almost drowsy with contentment, his bare feet dangling into the dark warm water, the dusk air thick with jasmine and rot.
(a slow, deep sigh) "Yeah. She's a tired old bitch, this river. She's got a good heart, deep down. You just gotta... respect her." (a soft, dry chuckle)
CUT TO:
The same voice now erupts as he's yanked from the dock, submerged, then surfacing in a spray of water and spit — a shredded, soaked, furious thing, words spat out like broken teeth between gasps.
(sudden, panicked gasps) "YOU SON OF A BITCH! GET OFF!" (gasping) "GET OFF MY..." (a sharp gasp) "LEG!"
The performance across both moments should feel like a prayer at dusk shattered by an ambush from hell.
Original transcript
Yeah, she's a tired old bitch, this river. But she's got a good heart, deep down. You just gotta... respect her. YOU SON OF A BITCH! GET OFF! GET OFF MY— *leg*—

1 · Original real clip (source speaker + style)
Performance instruction
A 28 year old woman with a warm but trembling voice, delivering this high-quality studio voice recording with no background noise.
The same voice is nervously laughing to mask overwhelming grief, finding small absurdities in her mother's letter.
(a shaky laugh) "She even used the good stationery," (chuckle) "that's so her." (snickering, gasping) "Look at this," (crying, laughing) "she used a fountain pen."
CUT TO:
The same voice now raw with sobbing, reading the words that break her, then finding a broken, tender peace.
(softly, crying) "She knew. She knew she was saying goodbye." (gasping sob) "Thank you, Mom." (crying) "I'm so angry at you for leaving." (a choked sob) "But thank you."
The performance across both moments should feel like a single real human unraveling from manic denial into devastating, messy love.
