What this is (for dummies). the dataset
laion/voice-acting-prompts
turns out to label every prompt with one of the 40 Empathic-Insight emotions plus a
vocal burst — so a fully procedural pipeline works (no language model needed):
strip the [bracket tags] from the prompt to get the text to say, and build the instruction from
the emotion's own synonym list + the vocal-burst description + the amplifiers that won our
emotion-prompting study (escalation arc + loudness). all lowercase.
Ranking: each group has 64 takes, scored and ranked by
reward = invWER × ( 1.5·norm(target emotion) + norm(genuineness) + norm(vocal-burst blend) )
— the intended emotion weighted slightly higher, exactly as specified. below: the top-3 of 64
per group with all scores.
Feasibility verdict: yes. ~1,700 usable texts per emotion (enough for 100 prompts x 40
emotions many times over); the intended emotion maps 1:1 to the EI-Plus scoring heads; extraction
is a two-line regex. full run 40 emotions × 100 prompts × 64 takes = 256,000 clips ≈ 60–75
A100-hours ≈ 8–9 h on this 8×A100 box, yielding 12,000 top-3 clips.
